1. Prevents Heart Disease

Drinking beer is related to reduced incidence of heart disease due to its presence of natural antioxidants called phenols.

Purple Haze is one of the beers with the highest concentration of phenols. This natural antioxidant helps fight heart disease by preventing the coagulation of your blood vessels and reduce the inflammation of your artery walls.

2. Reduces the Risk of Type 2 Diabetes

In a study conducted by the Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery, moderate consumption of beer shows a link to reduced risk in type 2 diabetes. The effect is more manifested in women. The fight of this disease is more enforced by the phytonutrients found in raspberries, which are found to help regulate blood sugar levels.

3. Increases Bone Density

Moderate consumption of beer is shown to help increase bone density, thereby reducing the risk of osteoporosis.

This is all thanks to its high silicon content. According to a study conducted by Naturopathic Doctor [Jacob Schor] (), the increase in bone density may also be due to the phytoestrogen content of beer.

4. Other Benefits

Raspberries which are found in this beer are known to have high levels of phytochemicals. These antioxidant compounds help fight cancer, inflammation, and wrinkles.

These berries also contain vitamins A and C, which can help boost your immune system and fight macular degeneration.

How to Enjoy Purple Haze Beer

You can drink this beer alone or you can consume it together with any of these recipes for the best experience ever.

Light Desserts

Two of my favorite light desserts that I like to pair with my Blue Haze Beer are souffles and chiffon cakes.

My favorite is the classic cheese souffle made from Parmesan cheese, Gruyere cheese, and unsalted butter. It is enhanced with more aroma and flavor by fresh thyme, rosemary, and cayenne pepper.

Chiffon cake is another light dessert that goes well with Purple Haze Beer. It is made of cake flour, flavorings, baking powder and eggs.

It’s a very light cake that infuses both the batter and foam type cakes pretty well.

Chocolate desserts

Chocolate matches well with beer because of their same decadent and smooth qualities. My favorite chocolate dessert is the chocolate cream pie, which resembles the taste of a classic chocolate pudding. It has a bit of sour cream which balances the taste of sweetness.

Cheese and citrus fruits

Purple haze also goes well with cheese, especially the Italian cheese mascarpone. Cheese has an acidic substance that balances the sweet and bitter flavor of the beer.

Similarly, the acidic content of citrus fruits pairs well with the beer.
